The Breakfast Burger

Take Hen House to the great outdoors. The Breakfast Burger

Summer in Minnesota has a way of pulling us outdoors. Cabins. Campgrounds. Backyard grills. Lake weekends. Wherever you're headed, our Breakfast Burger brings a little Hen House along for the ride.

Stacked with bacon, ham, American cheese, a perfectly cooked egg, and served with crispy hash browns, it's everything we love about breakfast—between two buns.

The Recipe

Ingredients

For the Burger

1½ lbs ground beef (80/20)
Salt & freshly cracked black pepper
4 hamburger buns, toasted
4 slices American cheese
8 slices crispy bacon
4 slices deli ham
4 eggs
Butter for frying

Crispy Hash Browns

4 cups shredded potatoes
2 tbsp butter
1 tbsp vegetable oil
Salt & pepper

Directions

  1. Crisp the Hash Browns: Heat butter and oil over medium-high heat. Spread the shredded potatoes into a thin layer and cook until deeply golden and crisp before flipping.
  2. Cook the Bacon & Ham: Cook the bacon until crisp. Warm the ham in the same skillet for about 30 seconds per side.
  3. Grill the Burgers: Season the beef simply with salt and pepper. Grill 4–5 minutes per side, topping each burger with American cheese during the final minute.
  4. Fry the Eggs: Cook the eggs sunny-side up or over easy. A runny yolk is highly encouraged.
  5. Build Your Burger: Toast the buns, then layer burger, cheese, ham, bacon, and egg. Serve with crispy hash browns. Enjoy outdoors whenever possible.

The Secret Ingredient? Every Layer Counts.

There's no single ingredient that makes this burger special. It's the way crispy bacon, warm ham, melted American cheese, a perfectly cooked egg, and a juicy burger come together. Nothing fancy. Just breakfast done right.
